allisonunsupervised asked: Did I miss your final review of Reamde?
Not really—I’m working on a formal review to send out for publication, look out Laura Miller, but basically it is a thriller. It works, but it’s not in Anathem or The Baroque Cycle’s world.
allisonunsupervised asked: I'll be driving through what I believe to be your neck of the woods early this summer. Where should I eat?
which area? Atlanta/SW Jawja? Or my hometown area of Boston?
If Atlanta, my favorite place right now is Agave in Cabbagetown.
In Boston, there’s a lot of great places, but you have to have a lobster tail pastry from Mike’s in the North End. Seafood is the king in Boston, and many, many great places. Jasper White is the lobster man in Boston—try his Summer Shack.

If only you hadn’t ruined scallops for me forever.
It’s like my lifestyle isn’t conducive to rest.
allisonunsupervised asked: Maybe I missed it-- did you find a bike? Still looking?
I have a couple of leads, but still looking.
I really want to find a new way to injure myself, so I figure ass over teakettle on a bike would really do the trick.
As far as I could tell, they edited out all the interesting parts of American Hustle and added an hour of Bradley Cooper being boring.
I haven’t seen all of Mr. Cooper’s work, but I’m not convinced he’s a great actor, or even a good one.
He’s a good foil—other people seem to do good work against him? Is that his great skill? Other than being very good looking?
