Of Shoes and Ships and Sealing Wax and Cabbages and Kings.

Some Thoughts.

Today I raked my front lawn and got a sweet hot spot on my thumb. But that part of the yard is clear and ready for Christmas. Tomorrow: the back yard and the dastardly millions of leaves my huge water oak drops twice a year.

Listening to ‘Yule B Swingin” on the hi-fi while my wife cooks dinner.

Reading a new book by Jesse Bullington who is certifiable. It’s historical fiction, 15th Century Holland in this case, called The Folly of the World. A bit foul, a lot funny, not sure yet where it’s going, but his books have great covers and have intrigued me for a few years. Hoping to rip through it in the next few days.

My term ended today as the last of the appeals/errors/screw ups were addressed or corrected.

We bought several holidays beers yesterday in Atlanta including Harpoon’s Winter Warmer, Sweetwater’s Festive Ale, and we found beer from Nantucket, Cisco Brewers’ Winter. We might not be going to the island this year (sniff), but we’ll hoist some fine ‘local’ brews and dream of being with my folks, my brother and sister in law, and my niece.

Life is good. Ya’ll be good—Santa’s still watching.
